“Heathrow expansion is not the answer” that has to be the message to the Independent Commission on Airport Expansion.
The Government is asking an Independent Commission to consider options for maintaining the UK’s aviation hub status. These include a new Thames Estuary Airport, options for Gatwick and Stanstead as well as a third runway at Heathrow. The Commission will take account of all views, including those of residents.
“A third runway at Heathrow is not the answer” says Clapham Action Team member Hannah Ginnett “more planes flying over Clapham will just add to the pollution and noise suffered by residents, enough is enough!”
The view that Heathrow expansion is not the answer is supported by London Mayor Boris Johnson and Conservatives across South London.
