James Bellis, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Vauxhall and Cllr Bernard Gentry, a local Conservative Councillor, have met with the Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin MP, to discuss a number of transport matters of concern to local residents.
At the meeting, James and Bernard pressed the Secretary of State to support long term solutions to resolve overcrowding on the southern section of the Northern Line, whilst also raising the future of Vauxhall Bus Station and the refusal of TfL to take proper account of local residents when replanning road networks. James Bellis commented, "From using our transport network every day and from speaking to many other constituents who do likewise, I know only too well the strain our transport system is under. I was therefore pleased to be able to press the Secretary of State on the need to find long term solutions for our transport infrastructure".
