Tube Ticket Offices to Shut

While car owners come to terms with higher charges, tube passengers will face increasing problems in buying a ticket as London Underground (part of Transport for London) are planning to shut 40 ticket offices permanently and reduce the opening hours at many others across the network.

A recent ICM opinion poll showed 69% of Londoners believed the closures would result in a worse service and 65% believed stations would be less safe. “This is yet another attack on our public services” said Michael Poole-Wilson. “Ken Livingstone should stop these cuts now as TfL come under his control.”
